About Kumar Sarkar

Kumar Sarkar joined Direct Energy as field manager in 2001. He quickly became Corporate Business Development Manager in 2004 and became one of the top sales managers in this group due to a commitment to an honest, straight forward, what’s-best-for-the-customer approach as well as his expert grasp of the energy industry. Success led him to become Vice President, World Energy: Direct Energy distributor in 2007. In 2008 he became full broker with Direct Energy Business services and developed his own hand-picked team of representatives. Partnering with Direct Energy, Energy Guru focuses on very large corporate accounts while arrangements with Superior Energy Management of Canada allow him to offer services to smaller and medium sized accounts. In 2009-2010 Kumar campaigned as a very vocal critic of the Provincial Benefit (PB) and other unjust government practices on behalf of the Ontario consumer. Prior to joining Direct Energy, he ran and managed an engineering and manufacturing company in Toronto for 25 years.
